Full BiographyI was born in Calexico, California in 1968. My roots, though, are here in the South, dug deep into this Georgia red clay. My family has been in this area for 13 generations, so I guess that's where I get it. I've lived in lots of places, Virginia, Maryland, Florida, to name a few, but I keep coming back here. Someday I would like to live in Seattle or Portland since I've heard interesting things about them. I'm a writer and artist, creative and a closet romantic. I'm shy to a fault, and while I enjoy people I'm often too nervous to actually speak up around strangers. However, once I'm comfortable, it's more a matter of shutting me up than getting me started. If a friend needs to talk, though, I'm good listener, caring and easy to talk to, or so I’m told! A lot of my personality is reflected in the way I dress. I lean toward comfortable and easy to live in... jeans or BDU's, things that don't restrict my movement. I also tend toward romantic looks, the sort of thing you see on some book covers. Long flowing skirts, that sort of thing. Around the house, its baggy sweats or flannel PJ's and slippers. Though recently I've lost quite a bit of weight and am back to showing myself off sometimes, when the mood strikes! I'll even wear the occasional short or slim skirt, these days. Overall, people view me and my appearance as pretty unintimidating. I barely top 5 foot and I"m not especially impressive. More fluffy kitten, less wildcat. However, while I resemble a loving cuddly housecat, and I love the attention, like any feline, if pushed too hard I claw. There are some things that are very important in my life that aren't material. For instance, the virtues that mean the most to me are honesty, compassion, and caring. Other things in life that are important to me are making a difference, helping people, loving and being loved, my friends and chosen family, the people I love, doing what's right for me and working with my partner to achieve my goals. I don't have much blood family I'm close to, but my 'intentional' family means a lot to me. It's small, but solid and growing. A few stray bits and pieces about me: My favorite color is purple, I love sunsets and thunderstorms, and I hate roller coasters! |
